We’re powering the clean energy revolution.The OpportunityReporting to the VP, Project Development, the Project Manager will work with a talented group of Project Managers, Engineers, Business Development Mangers, and business stakeholders in a fast-paced and exciting environment.This work matters. Even a small change to optimize electricity usage can significantly impact our customers, electrical grid, and environment. We’re building something that will have a lasting, positive impact.Our new Project Manager will:Deliver. You have excellent leadership, time management, prioritization, and project management skills to ensure operational performance targets and milestones are met or exceeded.Develop and manage project budgets, schedules, and documentation and review regular reports of budget and timeline status. Review budget-to-actual and planned timeline-to-actual progress and adjust plans accordingly. Manage projects in alignment with budget and timeline.Define in advance the acceptance criteria for each project deliverable, work with the team to establish delivery dates for each deliverable and oversee the review of client deliverables to ensure they meet all client acceptance criteria, securing sign-off on each deliverable as defined in the SOW.Lead and plan and manage the studies required to assess project viability and/or support the permitting, financing, and operation of the project. This includes, but is not limited to land / site survey, environmental, geotech, resources, interconnection capacity, and congestion.Manage and coordinate utility interconnection processes for development projects and related documentation needed for project interconnection and testing.Conduct due diligence on potential projects, evaluate the suitability of identified sites and participate in due diligence review and analysis of various reports (i.e. environmental, geo-tech, etc.).Define and document RFPs and scope of work packages for 3rd party EPC firms. Participate in EPC selection and contract negotiation.Manage the third-party consultants and contractors.Report. You will monitor and report on progress, methodically evaluate processes and systems to improve efficiency; and implement processes that provide transparency and trackingLead internal / external project status update meetings with management, utilities, EPCs, and finance counterparties, facilitating discussions with a detailed project plan and high-level status dashboard.Serve as lead point of contact for projects with counterparties, review and approve contract expenditures at the request of the VP, and ensure Peak Power’s and counterparties’ compliance with contracts. Hold counterparties accountable for promised timelines and quality of work to get the needed results.Review final and executed contracts (EPC and OEM Suppliers), schedules, budgets, scope, subcontractors, EHS plans, and permit compliance.Manage the collection, organization and filing of all project documentation, both internally and for external third-party stakeholders and project financing needs.Develop checklists and strategies for meeting location-specific development and permitting requirements to determine if the project is feasible; and oversee their implementation.Collaborate. You have strong interpersonal and communication skills to enable effective operations that require input, buy-in, and execution across multiple departments, as well as customer and stakeholder communications.Develop and lead the implementation of project-wide strategies to engage to achieve project success.Manage engagements with project stakeholders and act as a company representative for interactions with landowners, local governmental agencies, customers, contractors, equipment and materials suppliers, and other stakeholders.Coordinate activities of an internal team of project engineering, construction management, commissioning, procurement, asset management, legal, finance, and accounting staff, as well as deliverables of EPC Contractor, project stakeholders, and regulatory and permitting authorities.Ensure adherence to and compliance with contract terms for executed contracts and delivery of contractual deliverables in accordance with the project budget and schedule.Maintain and develop relations with Battery OEM and balance of plant (BOP) vendors.Grow. You are a critical thinker who can seize opportunities to create value for Peak Power’s long-term vision for optimizing power utilization and energy storage. You will proactively identify opportunities to improve operational performance, efficiency, and scalability and contribute to Peak Power’s electric asset portfolio growth.What you will bring to Peak Power:The experience and education. You have proven experience delivering success in a fast-paced, multi-tasking role where you are comfortable working autonomously.4+ years of professional experience in a project development and / or management, or related role is required2+ Years of experience in developing and / or managing behind and in front of the meter energy storage projects. Experience in wind & solar project development and construction is an asset.Undergraduate Degree in engineering, project management, construction management, or equivalent – P.Eng. designation preferred.Project Management Institute PMP certification preferred.Familiarity with battery storage design and technical standards and civil and structural technical knowledge.The drive and curiosity.
