The North Vancouver community is set to benefit from the construction of a new elementary school in the Cloverley neighbourhood. With funding from the Province of B.C., the North Vancouver School District, and the City of North Vancouver, this state-of-the-art 585-seat kindergarten to Grade 7 school is expected to be complete by fall 2026.

In addition to providing essential classroom space, the new school will feature a learning centre that can be utilized for programs and services, such as child care for the neighbourhood. This investment in education is part of a larger initiative by the government, which has approved over $233 million since 2016 to create 1,030 new student seats and 3,150 seismically safer seats in the North Vancouver School District.

The commitment to education in North Vancouver includes seismic replacements, upgrades, and expansions at various schools in the district. Some notable projects include the seismic replacement of Argyle Secondary, funding for an addition at Westview Elementary School, seismic upgrades at Mountainside Secondary, seismic replacement and expansion at Handsworth Secondary, and a 145-seat expansion at Lynn Valley Elementary.

Overall, the B.C. government’s dedication to education is evident, with almost $6 billion approved since September 2017 for new and improved schools, as well as land purchases for schools across the province. This investment not only supports the current educational needs of the community but also ensures a brighter future for students in North Vancouver.
