Reporting directly to the Head of the Division, this role collaborates closely with project managers, engineers, architects, and subcontractors to ensure that project costs are effectively estimated and managed throughout both the pre-construction and construction phases. This role will be assigned directly to one of our divisions and familiarity within that division (for example; drywall, or paint) is necessary to be successful in the position.Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough reviews of project plans, specifications, and other documentation to understand project requirements.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, architects, and subcontractors to gather necessary information for accurate cost estimations and project planning.
- Utilize industry-standard estimating software and methodologies to prepare detailed cost estimates for labor, materials, equipment, and other project expenses.
- Analyze and evaluate subcontractor bids and proposals to determine the most cost-effective solutions for project execution.
- Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources, ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget.
- Prepare and present comprehensive project estimates and plans to internal stakeholders and clients, highlighting key cost drivers, timelines, and potential risks.
- Participate in project meetings and discussions to provide expert advice on cost-related matters and contribute to project planning and decision-making.
- Maintain accurate records of project estimates, budgets, timelines, and related documentation for future reference and analysis.
- Stay updated on industry trends, market conditions, and pricing fluctuations to ensure competitive and accurate estimating practices.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant safety regulations and quality standards throughout the project lifecycle.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in construction management, engineering, or related field.
- 5 years of proven experience as an Estimator/Project Manager in the construction industry, with a strong track record of successful project estimations and management.
- Proficiency in estimating software and tools, such as Quickbird, On Screen Take Off, Bluebeam, PlanSwift, or similar platforms.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex project requirements and translate them into accurate cost estimates and project plans.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
- Detail-oriented approach with a focus on accuracy and precision in estimating project costs and managing project details.
- Knowledge of construction methods, materials, and building codes, specifically related to finishing projects.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines while maintaining quality standards.
