- Acquiring all required skill sets as outlined by the Ontario College of Trades by successfully completing the training programs of approximately 8,000 hours
- Working under the direction of a licensed General Body Repairperson or General Body Repairperson/Painter and acquiring knowledge and skills on a variety of vehicle body systems and components
- Will be exposed to all areas of body repair performed on transit vehicles and non-revenue service vehicles in order to become proficient in the body repair and maintenance of transit and non-revenue vehicles
- Emphasis is on all aspects of vehicle body, body components and structural repair including collision damage, corrosion damage, body rebuilding/fabrication/modification/refinishing, etc.
- Upon successful completion of the apprenticeship and associated examinations, graduates will be classified as a General Body Repairperson or General Body Repairperson/Painter and paid Wage Group 10 plus a skilled trade premium of $1.00 per hour and assigned to the first available vacancy in accordance with the Maintenance Seniority Regulations

What Skills and Qualifications Do You Bring?
- Grade 12 technical school graduates (with courses in English, mathematics, science and technology or equivalent) or have successfully completed an equivalent auto body certificate program through a recognized community college
- Must pass tests set by the Operation Group that correspond in content to the knowledge, theory, and/or practical requirements described above as part of the selection process
- Valid non-probationary Class “G2” or “G” Class Ontario Driver’s License. If you have a “G2” Ontario Driver’s Licence currently, you must be able to attain a “G” Class Ontario Driver’s License.
- Successful applicants will be required to attend and successfully complete community college and TTC in-house and external training courses pertaining to the work
