Job description: We are seeking an experienced Commercial Construction Estimator. to fulfill a Chief/Management role on the estaimating team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in estimating for commercial construction and/or light industrial projects, excellent analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.We are a leading firm specializing in commercial construction. - Review project plans, specifications, and other documentation to understand project scope and requirements.
- Collaborate with project managers, architects, engineers, and subcontractors to gather necessary information for accurate estimates.
- Analyze project drawings and specifications to identify potential cost-saving opportunities and value engineering options.
- Utilize estimating software and tools to streamline the estimating process and improve accuracy.
- Prepare and present detailed cost estimates to clients, architects, and project stakeholders.
- Participate in pre-bid meetings, site visits, and negotiations as required.
- Stay up-to-date on industry trends, construction materials, and labor costs to ensure competitiveness in bidding.
- Assist in the development of project budgets and schedules.
- Support project teams during the procurement and bidding process.
Qualifications: * Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in commercial construction estimating.
- Proficiency in construction estimating software such as Procore, Bluebeam, or equivalent.
- Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and building codes.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical skills.
- Proven track record of delivering accurate and timely cost estimates for commercial construction projects.
- Experience with value engineering and cost-saving strategies preferred.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize workload in a fast-paced environment.
- Professional certification such as Certified Professional Estimator (CPE) or similar is a plus.
