The Student Estimator will have the opportunity to support the Industrial team in their process of offering proposals and working with the estimating team. This is a 4, 8, or 12 month internship starting in September 2024. The student intern will have the following duties in this role:
- Being mentored by Senior and Chief Estimators in bidding projects including construction approach
- Pursuing various projects including a combination of private client proposals, design-build and bid-build projects ranging from mining processing plants, industrial plants, to water & wastewater treatment
- Working with the estimating team on proposal preparation including:
- Quantity takeoff and updating estimate software with quantities
- Database analysis
- Subcontractor/Vendor solicitation
- Subcontractor/Vendor Quote comparisons & analysis
- Entering quotes into estimate software
- Assisting with project execution
- Assisting in design build process and working with design teams
- Preparing portions of estimates utilizing Hard Dollar Estimating software
- Preparing portions of schedules utilizing Primavera P6 software
- Preparation of handover documents to site team for successful bids
What You Bring to the Table:
- Currently enrolled in a university or technical college diploma in Civil Engineering or Construction Management
- A valid driver’s license with a clean driver’s abstract
- Proven ability to work under pressure, prioritize tasks and meet deadlines for normal functions and special assignments.
- Attention to detail, mathematical, analytical skills and accuracy.
- Ability to build positive working relationships with internal and external clients.
- Service orientation and ability to work effectively with a team environment.
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook. Database and P6 knowledge an asset.

Warehouse Worker

We are currently seeking a Warehouse Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for assisting with daily warehouse operations including shipping, receiving, inventory management, and order picking/packing.
Responsibilities:
– Receive and unload deliveries from suppliers in a timely manner
– Keep accurate records of inventory levels and location
– Pick and pack orders for shipment to customers
– Maintain a clean and organized warehouse environment
– Operate forklifts and other warehouse equipment as needed
Requirements:
– High school diploma or equivalent
– Previous warehouse experience is preferred but not required
– Ability to lift heavy items and work on your feet for extended periods
– Strong attention to detail
– Excellent organizational and communication skills
