This opportunity is for a leading roofing and exterior finishing contractor located on the island of Bermuda. We are looking for the right personality to join the team!
Our client works on many aspects of a building’s exterior, including roofing, waterproofing, EIFS, Coatings.Please note: All employees hired must pass a driver’s license test and be responsible for reliable means of transportation.Successful Applicants will be required to disclose criminal convictions prior to receiving a conditional offer of employment and be able to produce a police report for the Bermuda work permit process.

• This is a full-time position for a full-time resident guest worker in Bermuda for a minimum of 1 year and hopefully many more years.
• Min 40 hours/week.
• Salary: $65 – $85k NET pay (this is in Bermuda Dollars). Client will handle all taxes and housing allowance etc.
• Start Date: May – June 2024.
• The client is responsible for the first flight to Bermuda and at the end of employment (no matter how many years that may be).
• Any travel in-between like vacations etc, is on the candidate.

• Housing allowance $30,000 per annum ($2,500.00 per month)

Scope of job will include:

• Pursue and review bid opportunities.
• Attend all pre-bid site meetings to prepare accurate estimates.
• Analyze and comprehend project plans, specs, and details.
• Analyze project financials and labor costs.
• Complete thorough bid packages for clients.
• Prepare takeoffs/estimates of costs of materials, labor, and equipment.
• Prepare and follow up on quotes.
• Foster new and maintain relationships with core clientele including architects, GCs, and commercial owners).
• Review all contracts and quotes for accuracy.
• Prepare and maintain a directory of suppliers.
• Review products used in projects (analyze cost etc.).
• Maintain computer and paper files for projects.
• Work with accounting to reconcile projects and analyze performance.
• Consult and communicate with Project Managers, Architects, Engineers, and Clients involved at all levels of the project.

Prerequisite Requirements:

• Minimum 1-3 years of experience in commercial construction with some estimating/pricing knowledge
• Quick and eager to learn
• Ability to read plans and specifications.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Strong negotiation and communication skills.
• Must be a team player.
• Must have good time management and organizational skills with the ability to meet tight deadlines.
