  • Food preparation and cooking, plating, presentation
  • Able to interpret a BEO and will ask superior for guidance
  • Strong knowledge of quantities needed for service and upcoming volumes
  • Able to write a thorough and complete prep list
  • Can identify any ergonomic issues or hazards in kitchen and seek guidance on how to remedy
  • Consistently offer professional, engaging and proactive service while supporting fellow colleagues
  • Assist in the preparation and service of all food items for a la carte and/or buffet menus, according to hotel recipes and standards
  • Ensure the cleanliness and maintenance of all work areas, utensils and equipment
  • Maintain full knowledge of all menu items, daily features and promotions
  • Follow kitchen policies, procedures and service standards
  • Follow all safety and sanitation policies when handling food and/or beverage
  • Maintaining and ordering stocks and supplies
  • Other duties as assigned

QualificationsYour experience and skills include:

  • Previous kitchen experience an asset
  • Creative and passionate about food and customer service
  • Able to work in a high-pressure environment
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; a team player
  • A valid BC Food Safe certification
  • As a condition of your employment, you must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 and provide appropriate proof of vaccination prior to beginning your employment with the hotel
