For more about WillScot Mobile Mini and who we are, .Come build your future with us!ABOUT THE JOB:Reporting to the Director of Design Services, the Engineer is responsible for engineering design supporting Construction Services, Sales, and Operations and Facilities teams.Additional reporting (Matrix Manager) to the Construction Services Director-Canada to provide support and problem solving to projects in the divisionWHAT YOU’LL BE DOING:Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Design and detailing of Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing systems for commercial modular buildings and storage containers.
- Design of structural components of modular buildings.
- Preparation of construction documents, calculations and studies of MEP and structural systems including foundations as needed for projects
- Development of future modular building solutions that are specific to unique markets and project applications
- Evaluate and recommend repairs for modified or damaged modules or containers
EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS:Qualifications ( Skills, Abilities, and Experience Required )
- Licensed Engineer with a minimum of 4 years of engineering production experience.
- If Non-Licensed Engineer, capable of obtaining PE license within 1 year
- Able to obtain multi state licenses throughout Canada
- Experienced in the design of wood framing as well as steel framing systems for commercial construction.
- Experienced in the design of wood and concrete floor systems.
- Expertise and working knowledge of relevant provincial codes, the NBC, and the others as needed for compliance
- Good computer skills including mastery of key software programs used daily to produce and communicate designs. CAD, primarily Revit or SolidWorks, RISA 3d, and MS Office Suite Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Other software including other 3D design software will be considered
- Possess excellent written, verbal and interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a team environment on multiple projects
- Must be capable of working with non-technical team members
- Previous experience with container, modular, and off-site construction is preferred but not essential
Education:
- BS in Mechanical Engineering or BS Architectural Engineering or BS in Civil Engineering
Other Requirements:
- Computer work 100% of the time.
- Sitting 100% of time for computer work and file organization.
Travel:
- Occasional as required to manufacturing location(s), branch offices, customer sites for information collection, installation review, or training and development.
