We are currently seeking an experienced Estimator to join our dedicated team.The Estimator will be responsible for evaluating customer specifications, preparing detailed quotations, engaging in cost/profit analyses and providing technical support to customers and to the sales team as required. This role requires strong knowledge of steel processing, steel grades, excellent analytical skills and the ability to collaborate across departments to meet team objectives and to surpass customer expectations.Starting Salary: $65,000 or more based on demonstrated qualifications. We welcome applications from less experienced candidates, salary range to be negotiated.Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm.Remote Work: NoKey Responsibilities1. Project Assessment, Cost Estimation & Quotation Preparation· Analyze customer specifications including Bills of Material, drawings, GD&T and other requirements.· Identify required material grades based on project requirements and determine most efficient material utilization.· Assess cost-effective production processes to produce parts and accurately calculate labor and material inputs.· Conduct risk assessments related to process bottlenecks, high tolerance requirements and machine capabilities.· Complete comprehensive, accurate quotations that ensure all required production processes and cost have been considered.· Perform sales related and other functions as required.2. Profitability & Efficiency Analysis· Conduct reviews on existing business to identify underperformance, determine root cause and recommend proactive solutions for increased profitability.· Participate in machine and process capability studies with other departments as required.3. Production Planning & Forecasting· Collaborate with sales and production management to forecast customer demand based on orders, trends and available production capacity.· Provide input on material procurement needs and production capacity to support customer demand.4. Communication & Collaboration· Work with other departments as required to achieve project requirements.· Engage with customers to discuss requirements and offer solutions to enhance the business relationship.· Maintain records of quotes, revisions and communications for transparency and traceability.5. Continuous Improvement & Knowledge Development· Stay updated on industry standards, GD&T, material grades and emerging technologies in steel processing.· Brannon Steel supports work related professional development initiatives.Requirements· Proven experience as an Estimator in a steel processing or related manufacturing environment.· Strong understanding of steel processing techniques, materials and GD&T principles.· Excellent analytical, communication and organizational skills.· Ability to work collaboratively with various departments and directly with customers.· Proficiency in estimating software and relevant technical tools including CAD/CAM, ERP/MRP systems and MS Excel.Benefits
