As stewards of the province’s financial affairs, we deliver a wide range of corporate fiscal and management services – including the preparation of the provincial budget, forecast updates, and year-end audited financial statements – as well as review departmental submissions to Executive Council and its sub-committees to ensure government plans are coordinated and financial elements are thoroughly understood.We are constantly looking for new and better ways to plan, manage, budget and invest.About Our OpportunityAs the Executive Director, Financial Advisory Services, you will be responsible for strategic leadership in developing and managing the budgetary planning process; the integration of the budgetary and departmental business planning process; expenditure control; communicating budget direction to regional centres of education and other funded organizations in the sector; supporting sectoral collective bargaining tables and strategy development; accounting for revenue, operating and capital costs in accordance with departmental and governmental policies, regulations and procedures for the Department of Education and Early Childhood Development.You will also provide advice and assistance to Deputy Minister(s) on strategies to assist departments in meeting their objectives in the broader context of the government’s objective of fiscal sustainability. This regularly requires the provision of executive leadership involving complex financial issues to assist in the development of government policies and programs. You must also engage and work with external partners.Primary AccountabilitiesSome of the key responsibilities in this role include:

  • Providing leadership and expertise to the department/agency by directing a comprehensive operational and capital budget process that integrates business planning and financial planning and ensures department/agency budgets are aligned with corporate priorities;
  • Providing sound financial advice, leadership, and support to assist government in meeting its fiscal objectives through effective analysis, decisions and recommendations that have a measurable impact on the achievement of corporate and departmental goals and objectives;
  • Identifying, evaluating and ensuring compliance with internal controls over financial management and reporting through the development of risk management strategies, appropriately designed financial controls and accuracy and integrity of the financial information presented to executive management, which is critical for safeguarding government assets and effective decision making;
  • Assist the department in managing key interested and affected parties, including communication of results and issues with related entities, support to the Minister(s) in the Committee/Subcommittee on Supply, and support to the Deputy Minister in the Committee of Public Accounts

Qualifications and ExperienceThis may be the right opportunity for you if you have a university degree in a relevant discipline (eg. Commerce, Finance or Business Administration) and a professional accounting designation. You will have several years of progressive leadership experience, with a minimum of 5 years in a professional/financial management role.As the ideal candidate you possess a specialized level of technical knowledge with a demonstrated history of providing solutions and alternatives to complex technical accounting issues, applying constructive thinking and interpretation/application of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) within a broad context using both financial and non-financial information. You will have highly developed skills in all aspects of financial management (budgeting, forecasting, accounting and year-end procedures) and providing financial advice and leadership.Drawing on previous experiences, with a proven ability to accomplish goals and objectives, you balance priorities, meet deadlines, balance conflicting views and achieve specific and accurate outcomes often within a very tight time frame and competing deadlines. You possess exceptional communication skills (written and verbal) with a proven ability of building and maintaining positive professional relationships. You have a strong attention to detail, with a demonstrated history of providing accurate information and sound financial advice.You are a highly motivated self-starter with the ability to build strong team dynamics and look strategically forward on issues. You have a sound understanding of computerized accounting systems and the ability to develop technology-based solutions to administrative process problems. Job Description

We are currently seeking a skilled and experienced Welder to join our team. As a Welder, you will be responsible for welding and fabricating metal components to the specifications of engineering drawings. You will also be responsible for inspecting and testing welded structures to ensure they meet quality standards.

Responsibilities:
– Reading and interpreting engineering drawings to determine welding requirements
– Setting up welding equipment and selecting appropriate welding tools
– Welding metal components together using various welding techniques
– Inspecting welded structures and conducting non-destructive tests to ensure quality
– Repairing and maintaining welding equipment as needed
– Ensuring safety protocols are followed at all times

Requirements:
– 3+ years of experience as a Welder
– Certification in welding preferred
– Strong knowledge of welding techniques and equipment
– Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
– Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills
– Strong communication and teamwork skills
