SPECIFIC DUTIES:This working position is responsible for the maintenance, repair, and installation of all types of electrical infrastructure, electrical systems, and electrical devices including but not limited to, power, lighting, control, locking control, and motors and associated systems and components utilized in the operation of the facility.The incumbent in this position is responsible for, but not limited to:
- Supervises and provides on the job training to those inmates he/she supervises in the electrical trade.
- Performs preventive maintenance and maintenance repairs for the proper function of all electrical and associated systems.
- Performs all tests, maintains all logs, keeps records for related equipment per Department guidelines.
- Follows approved methods and procedures of all local, state or federal codes, tool, safety and established security procedures.
- Prepares reports as directed by the Maintenance Superintendent.
- Plans and organizes work to be preformed and requisitions necessary parts to ensure the proper operation of all electrical systems and equipment and adheres to all Maintenance Policy and Procedures.
- Prepares reports of progress and performance for assigned inmates for the use by the inmate’s classifications team in measuring and determining the rehabilitative progress of the assigned inmate consistent with motivational needs and the development of a positive approach to rehabilitation efforts. Maintains custody and control of inmates as outlined in the operational procedures.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- A high school diploma or its equivalent and at least one (1) year of experience in the Electrical/Electrician field OR four or more years experience in the Electrical/ Electrician field (College or vocational/technical training in one of the above listed trades can substitute for the required experience).
- A valid Driver’s License
