It is the responsibility of the Fleet Technician I to perform all cleaning and maintenance tasks in a safe manner in accordance with company standards. The Fleet Technician I must also be capable of effectively performing all duties of an Equipment Associate.What you’ll do:Demonstrate a thorough knowledge of Mobile Storage quality standards:Ability to perform basic maintenance and repairs, including but not limited to, remove and repair flooring, tiles, roofs, walls, frames, doors, leaks, caulking, windows, screens, painting, filters/dampers, replacing skins and trim, tagging of equipment, removal/install of UR decals and equipment numbersHooking mobile office to power sourceChecking tire pressure and lugsComplete assignments on time and within budgetComplete assignments as documented on Work OrdersComplete necessary documentation (work order, etc.)Travel to customer sites to set office trailers and assist CDL A Drivers when neededEquipment Modifications:Complete in accordance with manufacturer’s specifications and state and local building codesComplete in accordance with approved specificationsComplete assignments on time and within budgetOrganization and Cleanliness of Shop, Yard, Tools and Supplies :Follow Mobile Storage and United Rentals 5S guidelinesMeet cleanliness standards on each & every assignmentStore tools, supplies, and Value Added Products (VAPs) in proper and secure placeKeep yard organized and free of debrisAdvise supervisor of supply needsInbound and outbound equipment inspections and processing; follow Rental Flow proceduresFork Lift OperationsShow and exhibit fleet to customers when neededSafely install and/or uninstall VAPs according to reservation requirementsRequirements:High School diploma or equivalentActive applicable state class driver’s licenseRelated maintenance experience a plusBasic verbal and written skillsConstruction knowledge and backgroundTeamwork and customer service skillsDemonstrated time management skillsAbility to utilize required information technologyWorking knowledge of heavy equipment, tools, and manufacturers’ warranty processAccurately record time and material used for proper work order completionLift up to 45 lbs.This position is deemed Safety Sensitive for purposes of United Rentals’ policies and procedures.Why join us?We don’t just “talk the talk!” We’re an award-winning company (recently named a Glassdoor Best Place to Work in 2023) that truly cares about our people – That’s why we offer best-in-class benefits and perks that will support you and your family.
