This position will be based out of our Mississauga branch, reporting to the Senior Regional Health & Safety Manager for Eastern Canada. The chosen candidate will be responsible for supporting the Ontario region, which includes job sites in the GTA and surrounding areas. Frequent travel may be required.A Day in the Life· Manage the safety requirements of operational construction sites and equipment· Conduct safety inspections of Flynn project sites using documentation and standardized processes· Ensure that sub-contractors adhere to required safety standards in keeping with Flynn policy/legislation· Identify potential risks and safety hazards during a project through involvement throughout the job life cycle (estimate, pre-mobilization, and construction)· Perform accident and incident investigations as per the company’s health and safety programs· Maintain a conducive working relationship with all management, superintendents, project managers and frontline workers, through education, coaching, advising and giving practical on site application options· Assist with the communication and implementation of the company’s claims management and return to work programs· Be proactive in recommending changes to improve the safety programs· Participate in the development and implementation of safety training programs· Conduct new worker safety orientations and other required training programs as needed· Report writing and maintaining of all required documentation· Attend and facilitate monthly safety committee meetings as required· Frequent visits to job sites and branches in the GTA and surrounding areas, possible travel to Sudbury when requiredWhat We Offer· Work in a beautiful building with an in-house cafeteria and gym!· Access to great Perks/Discounts· Excellent Benefits and RRSP matching program· Complimentary tea and coffee· Be a part of a growing company!What We Are Seeking· Formal education and/or training in Environmental/Occupational Health and Safety, NCSO or equivalent experience· Minimum 1-3 years’ experience in a safety role within a construction environment· Experience working in the ICI construction industry, specifically dealing with Building Envelope is considered an asset· Experience with WSIB and injury management an asset· Knowledge of the COR and/or ISO 45001 is considered a strong asset· Good knowledge of the Occupational Health & Safety Act, Construction regulations of Ontario, and Working at Heights legislation· Knowledge and practical experience in accident investigation· Strong administrative and organizational skills· Strong ability in using a computer with high proficiency in Windows applications; Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)· Ability to work with minimal supervision· Team attitude with a willingness to learn· Willingness to travel· Valid driver’s license requiredLocation: Mississauga, ONEmployment Type: Office, Salary, Full-timeJob Functions: Health & SafetyIndustry: Building EnvelopeCANRO#LI-PR1Flynn Group of Companies is the leading trade contractor in North America that works on virtually every aspect of a building’s outer layer, including Roofing, Glazing, Waterproofing, and Architectural Metals.
