They specialize in completing challenging renovation and addition projects.They are looking for a Intermediate Estimator to join their ever growing company.Summary:The Estimator will be responsible for the accurate, timely preparation of full-cost estimates for projects, including materials and labour. Under the direction of Senior Management and Estimating Team Lead, he or she will be tasked with preparing and maintaining a list of suppliers, contractors and subcontractors, and establishing unit costs, labour rates, productivity factors and location impacts. This individual’s accuracy is critical to the profitability of the business, as under-estimates may cause significant financial losses and over-estimates may result in the inability to win bids. Other duties will be assigned as necessary.Duties & Responsibilities:
- Ability to engage with new and existing customers.
- Understanding of preconstruction phases.
- Ability to prepare and make accurate cost estimates across all scopes of work in a timely manner.
- Collaborate with project team for staffing requirements and specific project needs.
- Assist in develop variance reports as the design evolves – prepare value engineering studies throughout.
- Assist in estimate packages and present clearly to clients for cost accuracy.
- Ensure all relevant information is correct with complete overview of all project expenses.
- Join a collaborative teamwork environment advocating for customers to establish strong relationships and business opportunities.
- Assist in review bid packages from subtrades.
- Assist in reviewing contracts and identify key insurance key insurance issues.
- Understanding the bidding process and have some experience including but not limited to evaluating subcontractor proposals, soliciting bids, communicating with bidders and ensuring accuracy.
- Understand unit costs factors which can affect construction costs.
- Work closely with Sr Estimators and all internal/external parties throughout preconstruction phase ensuring accuracy of costs and project requirements meeting all deadlines.

Qualifications/Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in construction management, Engineering or related field – Preferred but not required, equivalent years of experience also considered.
- Experience with identifying project issues while providing an innovative and creative approach to finding solutions.
- Team player with strong communication skills, a positive go getter attitude and who can work with internal and external parties.
- Minimum of 5 estimating experience with previous exposure to residential developments.
- Computer skills: Microsoft Office Suite, Estimating software’s (Timberline, etc.), take-off software’s, BIM products (Revit, etc.) and exposure to scheduling software such as Primavera or others.
- Candidates must be eligible to work in Canada.
