The ideal candidate will have a strong background in carpentry, including framing, finishing, and general construction techniques. As a Journeyman Carpenter at New City Contracting, you will play a crucial role in executing construction projects to the highest standards of quality and safety.Responsibilities:
- Interpret and follow blueprints, sketches, and construction plans to meet project specifications
- Perform various carpentry tasks, including framing, installing doors and windows, trim work, and finishing
- Measure, cut, and shape materials accurately to ensure proper fit and alignment
- Select and use appropriate tools and equipment safely and effectively
- Collaborate with other team members, including contractors, subcontractors, and project managers, to coordinate work activities and meet deadlines
- Adhere to safety protocols and regulations to maintain a safe working environment
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas to ensure efficiency and productivity
Qualifications:
- Completion of a recognized carpentry apprenticeship program
- Journeyman Carpenter certification or equivalent experience
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in the construction industry
- Proficiency in reading blueprints and technical drawings
- Strong knowledge of carpentry techniques, tools, and materials
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Commitment to safety and quality craftsmanship
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
