The Brantford plant is a manufacturing facility that mainly provides product in our Residential Construction business unit, selling to our renovation centres for home improvement projects.What’s in it for you?

The role:Under the authority of the Logistics Coordinator, using assigned systems and applications, schedule loads for shipping requirements per booking instructions, ensuring all information is relayed accurately and punctually.
- Answer enquiries from customers / sales and process all requests; escalate and communicate professionally & effectively.
- Schedule delivery appointments.
- Ensure that all inbound and outbound shipments are coordinated with respective staff at each shipping destination.
- Meet performance deadlines and adhere to all client shipping requirements.
- Contact Freight providers for available freight units daily.
- Check inventory to make sure requested product is available.
- Input freight costs for each order into SAP.
- Ensure all orders are invoiced daily.
- Coordinating with Account Managers, Logistics Coordinator, Customer Service Reps, Warehouse and Production team members to ensure inventory is available prior to scheduling shipments.
- Communicate with Warehouse Supervisor and Shipping Team Members re: loads per day, priority loads, and changes to load schedule.
- Interact with drivers, direct drivers for pickup/delivery to location(s).
- Schedule Long Hauls for early AM to maximize freight unit availability.
- Create Dispatch Report (daily), update, email to Account Mangers, staff and Freight providers at the end of each business day.
- Negotiate freight rates, fuel surcharge, drop fees.
- Comply with Federal, Provincial laws, regulations and standards, completing any required documentation as applicable.
- Adhere to all Sika Canada Inc. service standards, policies, and minimum requirements.
- Work in compliance with the provisions of Ontario Occupational Health & Safety Act.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
QualificationsWhat we need from you:
- Minimum of grade 12 or equivalent; post-secondary diploma is an asset
- 2 to 3 years experience in transportation or customer service roll would be preferred.
- SAP and EDI experience an asset
- Good command of MS Office suite of products with an ability to quickly learn new software
- Detail-oriented
- Strong ability to multitask in a busy environment
- Must be a team player
- Must be dependable and demonstrate ability to follow directions
- Effective communication skills, both orally and in writing
- Strong routing/planning skills (geographical knowledge)
- Ability to be flexible and work extended hours as required
- Problem solving and priority setting skills
