For more information, visitPurpose:The Estimating Manager, Canada East will oversee the Estimating team to prepare and supervise the development and presentation of cost estimates for national and international projects in accordance with the approved procedures and supervise the team to ensure that it is equipped to provide the required services to Worley, and its customers.Responsibilities:
- Provide Leadership to the Estimating Department
- Lead the proposal/project bid team.
- Support software rollout.
- Ensure sound, well defined, quantity-based budgets are developed.
- Coordinate bid schedule and project execution plan creation.
- Coordinate the turnover of information to the project team
- Support the procurement department with scope development and subcontractor evaluations.
- Support the preparation of proposal documentation with Sales and Office Administrator.
Job Specific Knowledge:
- Provide leadership, coaching and mentorship to the estimating department.
- Alignment of systems and procedures.
- Provide Senior Management with Proposal/Estimate summaries to support approvals and Executive Proposal Reviews
- Oversee and coordinate all phases of multiple project estimates.
- Work with estimating leads to coordinate management reviews.
- Liaise with Construction Managers & Project Managers to coordinate constructability, scheduling and project execution inputs.
- Coordinate bid schedule creation with the estimators.
- Work with the project team to develop final budgets and quantities of measurement.
- Assist in the collection of planned vs. actual project values.
- Participate in and coordinate the turnover from estimating to operations
- Proposal initiation/Project initiation
- Monthly reporting requirements
- Employee growth planning
- Department staffing as required
- Support all departmental requirements for proposals/projects
- Establish the project bid team and be an effective contributor to the project bid team.
- Know the proposal scope and the roles of the proposal team.
- Organize the bid kickoff and final review meetings with the lead estimator.
- Ensure sound, well defined quantity-based budgets are developed.
- Ensure WBS is adhered to while quantifying work.
- Review and support quantity checks at a summary level for other aspects of the estimate.
- Develop bid schedule and project execution plan creation with the lead estimator.
- Support the lead estimator with scope development and subcontractor evaluations.
- Fully understand the scope of subcontractors to support development of RFP’s bid cycle.
- Review and support the lead estimator’s review of subcontractor technical clarifications during the bid cycle.
- Review and support the lead estimator’s review of subcontractor bid evaluations and recommendations to Lead Estimator.
- Review and support the lead estimator’s preparation of proposal documentation with BD and Office Administrator.
- Liaise with the lead estimator to create a bid package that meets all owner requirements.
- Coordinate with Project Estimators, subcontractors, vendors, etc. to provide input in a timely fashion to ensure the bids are completed and delivered on time.
- Provide input to the lead estimator into the preparation of scope and work clarifications.
- Ensure the correct estimating applications and forms are used.
- Attend client meeting to review proposal offerings
QualificationsWhat you will bringTechnical and Industry Experience:
- 10 or more years of experience as an estimator in an industrial environment
- EPC estimating experience
- Mining estimate experience is considered an asset
- Supervisory experience
