Reporting to the VP of Industrial East Operations, the successful candidate will play a key role in the success of our business unit.What you’ll do here;Accountable for ensuring all construction project management activities are successfully executed, including;
- Transition to construction, monitors construction infrastructure and critical path
- Establishing and maintaining project budget
- Enforces change procedures
- Establishes schedule and staffing plans
- Negotiates and executes contracts and agreements in a timely and cost-effective manner
- Chairs project management meetings with a focus on the best outcomes for Aecon
- Ensures all project reporting is accurate and timely
- Oversees testing, quality, and safety
- Manages client and vendor relationship
- Project risks and issues are logged and managed
- Ensures all project close-out activities are completed in a timely manner
- Demonstrates commercial acumen to protect profits and improve margins
Is also responsible for:
- Business development, including participation in costing and estimating activities and risk analysis
- Financial forecasting and contributing to creation of revenue targets
- Overseeing procurement including materials and subcontractors
What you bring to the team:
- 5-10 years of construction experience
- Background in Mechanical, Electrical or Civil Works
- Previous Industrial Experience is considered a major asset
- Willingingness to travel for work is required
- Post-secondary education in engineering, construction management, or equivalent discipline
- General knowledge of non-residential construction methods, building systems, and terminology
