Pomerleau: proud individuals who share a vision and are passionate about what they do.As a Mechanical Estimator working in the Building Operations team at Pomerleau Construction, you will support new and ongoing project growth and challenge industry standards with your trade-driven expertise and knowledge. Working on large-scale building and infrastructure projects – ranging from $1.5 million to upwards of $1 billion – you will work closely with our proposals team and various client groups to secure bids and ensure project success.What YOU Will Do
- Conduct detailed quantity take-offs and cost estimates for mechanical projects, including HVAC, plumbing, and piping systems.
- Analyze project specifications, drawings, and other documents to determine project requirements and scope.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to develop comprehensive project estimates.
- Research and gather data on materials, labor, and equipment costs to ensure accurate estimates.
- Prepare and present estimate reports, including breakdowns of costs and assumptions, to internal teams and clients
- Assist in value engineering initiatives to optimize project costs while maintaining quality standards.
- Stay updated on industry trends, pricing, and regulations to inform estimating practices and strategies.
What YOU Will Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting mechanical drawings, specifications, and technical documents.
- Strong analytical and mathematical skills, with the ability to perform accurate calculations and estimates.
- Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and precision in estimating processes.
- Knowledge of construction methods, materials, and industry standards related to mechanical systems.
Bonus if you also:
- Previous experience working with estimating software.
- Fluently bilingual in French and English both written and verbal.
