Their primary focus is drafting, estimating, ordering materials, creating shop drawings, managing projects through production, and shipping products to site. Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Develop layout, drawings, and designs that meet expectations and specifications
• Prepare detailed shop drawings and value engineering
• Confirming project changes and logging them
• Estimate steel projects and develop clear and detailed project scope for the customer.
• Maintain current customer relationships.
• Communicate with customers to set realistic deadlines for the completion of work.
• Understand plans and specifications to identify the types and grades of materials and processes required to ensure compliance with project requirements.
• Verify job costing as needed.
• Prepare packages for shop floor production, order materials.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTSDegree or Diploma in:

• Estimating/Drafting
• Construction Engineering Technology
• Construction Management
• Mechanical Engineering

WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

• 3 years of experience with Autodesk Inventor 2016 or later, AutoCAD.
• Structural design experience
• Pipe fabrication experience an asset but must be willing to learn this part of the business.
• Must be able to estimate steel projects and develop clear and detailed project scope for the customer.
• 5+ years of steel fabrication knowledge.
• 5+ years’ experience estimating for miscellaneous steel fabrication

SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND OTHER REQUIREMENTSKnowledge and understanding of:

• Autodesk Inventor
• AutoCAD
• Estimation
• Structural Steel Drafting
• Production scheduling, planning, and execution
• Blue print reading

• Willing and able to travel to site from time-to-time in the GTA
