The Project Controls Analyst has the responsibility of overseeing projects to ensure they stay within budget and are completed on time. This role involves supporting project execution by keeping accurate records of expenditures, tracking regulatory compliance at each phase, and monitoring market changes that may affect the project. This position will be based out of our Toronto office.RESPONSIBILITIES
- Maintain and promote a strong safety culture for all employees, vendors, and customers and follow all safety policies, procedures, and regulations. Identify and communicate workplace hazards and correct or seek assistance in correcting unsafe actions or conditions. Stop work in the area of an identified health or safety problem until resolved.
- Review Prime Contract and other related documentation to fully understand project scope of work and be familiar with cost items and contract invoicing requirements and billing schedules.
- Based on the directions from Project Management Office, build customized, MS Excel based reporting systems to track project incurred costs, project performance measurement, and project forecasting.
- Understand the Prime Contract invoicing requirements. Maintain required billing backups. Prepare monthly invoice package for approval by Project Manager.
- Key gatekeeper for the project field cost coding system. Make sure field cost is coded properly and consistently against established project budget breakdowns.
- Review and code internal time sheets, supplier PO and invoices, and subcontract LEMs if required.
- Maintain commercial change order list and track internal change orders. Reflect them in our cost and revenue forecast accordingly.
- Work with vendors and suppliers to make sure Michels Canada invoicing standard requirements are met.
- Support project team in the administration of subcontracts and other project contractual requirements.
- Other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS
- Secondary degree or technical diploma in engineering, accounting, or constructions related.
- 2+ years of experience in infrastructure construction and/or cost controls.
- Must possess a valid driver license for the type(s) of vehicles which may be driven, and an acceptable driving record as determined by Michels Review Team.
LANGUAGES
- Must be able to communicate verbally and through written language (by hand and digitally) in English.
