Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Drafting and issuance of project budget, cash flow and preliminary schedule.
- Prepare project organization and communication charts.
- Chair project meetings and distribute minutes to all project team members
- Track the progress and quality of work being performed by design disciplines/trades
- Use project scheduling and control tools to monitor projects plans, work hours, budgets and expenditures
- Creation of weekly cost summary reports for all projects
- Purchase order acceptance and job set up in JDE
- Assist with monthly WIP report creation and presentation
- Prepare progress reports and issue progress schedules to clients.
- Review work/contracts/WIP for areas of risk and correct deficiencies.
- Effectively and accurately communicate relevant project information to the client and project team
- Ensure clients’ needs are met in a timely and cost effective manner
- Maintain Contract Execution Tracking Log
- Track and manage contemplated change notices and change orders in the database
- Prepare substantial completion certificates and ensure all required project close- out documents are obtained
- Communicate ideas for improving company processes with a positive and constructive attitude
- Keep the Project Manager (PM) and others informed about project status and issues that may impact client relations
- Conduct and submit Observation and Coaching cards and Site Inspections on a weekly basis in accordance with company policy and OHSA.
- Provide oversight on weekly job charges to apply accurate trends to performance management.
- Prepare estimates of probable costs of materials, labour and equipment for construction projects based on contract bids, quotations, schematic drawings and specifications.
- Advise on tendering procedures, examine and analyze tenders, recommend tender awards and conduct negotiations.
- Assist in conducting material and equipment purchasing for secured jobs.
- Assist and verify all Passport/Maximo Work Reports submitted against work scope tasks to ensure compliance with OPG/Bruce Power and IGS Quality Programs.
- Assist with accounts receivable / payable and associated reporting.
- Complete submissions of required notifications such as supplementary trade groups, project status updates, Station Condition Reports(SCR) and IGS Event Reporting (ERS/ATS)
- Travel to various sites or clients to undertake the above.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Experience working in office environment
- A Client Security Clearance will be required
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum one year schooling towards Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or Project/Construction Management
WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- In-depth knowledge and engagement experience with Indigenous communities strongly preferred
SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS
- Proficient in MS Project and/or Primavera and the MS Office Suite of products
- Effective communication skills including verbal, written and presentation skills
- Proven ability to work effectively both independently and in a team based environment
- Demonstrated willingness to be flexible and adaptable to changing priorities
- Strong multi-tasking and organizational skills
