We are currently looking to add two experienced Project Coordinators to support a large civil
earthworks project in Fort Saskatchewan, AB for our client Dow Chemical. This role will work mostly on site starting at 7:00 am Monday to Friday, 10 hours per day Monday to Thursday and 8 hours per day on Friday. This will start in early August and is ongoing work and could span multiple years.Compensation/Benefits
- Can hire as a direct employee or as a *Direct Service Provider/Sub Contractor.
- Competitive hourly wage. Negotiable, based on experience.

Dow Chemical Canada is taking initiatives to increase production capacity and reduce carbon emissions as part of its sustainability goals. In this context, Dow has initiated the FS PATH2ZERO Program to decarbonize and grow production ~3MM mta of low to zero carbon emissions C2 derivatives at its Fort Saskatchewan facilities in Canada. The overall program includes an ethylene plant, derivative plants (five world scale polyethylene units) and their associated decarbonization scope. These assets are targeted to startup in the latter half of 2027 for the Program
Phase 1 and in 2029 for the Program Phase 2. This contract for OCL would be the early works and block grading preparation for the construction of the new units as highlighted below:
- Civil Site prep for the multiple blocks (stripping/grading)
- Final grading/aggregate and paving placement
- Site improvement; stormwater ditching and pond upgrades, parking lot expansions
- Railway crossings
- Underground piping & utilities
- Electrical tie in’s, undergrounds and grounding
- High mast lighting foundations and install
- Minor concrete works
Key Duties/Responsibilities
Reporting to the Project Manager, the Project Coordinator will be responsible for providing ongoing project management administrative support to the project management and field teams. The ideal candidate has a CET diploma or an engineering degree and is used to working on site.
- Assist PM with defining the scope of work portion of contracts. Assisting with bid evaluations and reviewing and overseeing subcontractors.
- Assist PM with progress billing, contract review, and change order preparation as required.
- Monitor daily progress of job(s) and/or project(s) reporting on progress, schedule and budget as required.
- Work closely with the PM and site supervision to ensure the safe and effective execution of the overall project plan.
- Works closely with Construction Management to participate in workforce planning for manpower, materials, logistics, equipment and subcontracts.
- Write RFI’s and quality control documents
Education/Training Requirements
- CET
- Working towards a P.Eng considered an asset
- PMP designation considered and asset
- Solid technical computer skills (Microsoft suite of products, Google Platform, Bluebeam, Excel/Google Sheets, CAD)
- 1 – 3 years of on-site project management experience in industrial, civil, mechanical or piping construction considered an asset
- Proficient in the interpretation of engineered drawings, Isometrics, LDT’s and P&ID’s
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
- Proficient with commonly used scheduling or estimating software
- Looking for a self-motivated, hard working professional that can converse and build relationships with many different types of people quickly
- Must be able to problem solve and work under pressure
- Will have to complete various safety training and orientations as per client and OCL requirements prior to accessing site
- May have to pass a drug and alcohol test prior to accessing site
