Assist other technicians with troubleshooting, proper installation practices, & system verification. This position is for an experienced field technician to be in a Lead role to assist as needed with an upper level of support to the department supervisor.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Oversees field project technicians
  • Periodically assists Project Manager/Estimator in preparation of project design and bid estimates by performing filed evaluation and providing details on the job scope.
  • Assists coordinating delivery and readiness of necessary equipment and materials.
  • Provide advanced trouble shooting assistance for HVAC systems and units as needed.
  • Responsible for ensuring compliance with company objectives, operations procedures, policies and quality standards.
  • Monitors projects manpower requirements and initiates requests to accommodate fluctuating needs.
  • Inspects work in progress.
  • Investigates and devises solutions to field problems.
  • Coordinates timely and accurate submission of timecards.
  • Maintains positive communications with customers to stay attuned to their desires/preferences.
  • Promote and participate in education and training opportunities that allow the company and its employees to meet stated goals, objectives and business plans.
  • Participate in quality association with trade/business associations which enhance the company’s mission or business plan.
  • Provide junior associates with a “role model” examples of the company’s business and work ethic as delineated in MSI’s Mission Statement.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Valid Drivers license.
  • Minimum 10 years’ experience with working in HVACR industry.
  • In-depth knowledge of construction standards, installation of HVAC systems, related supporting utilities, and others.
  • Knowledge of local and industry codes that regulate the HVARC&R industry.
  • Ability to work without supervision.
  • Ability to effectively coach, motivate and train employees.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Effective negotiator who can work in harmony with other trades.
  • Physical activities of standing, balancing, climbing stairs & ladders, walking and lifting of weights of 50 lbs. or more are required in daily performance of job.
  • Use of upper extremities required for forward and overhead reaching, pushing and pulling, and material handling.
  • Use of torso and lower extremities required for kneeling, crawling, stooping, twisting, and squatting.
