For more information, visitPurpose:Produce estimates for projects or parts of them, starting with Order of Magnitude estimates trough bid check estimates as the project approaches the execution stage.Responsibilities:

  • Produce written reports including Estimate Plans, Basis of Estimate Report, Project Closure Cost Report, and contingency analysis.
  • You will work with intermediate level estimators, taking responsibility for their work, and training and mentoring your estimating team.
  • Contribute towards improving the estimating department’s standards bases on the applicants experience and knowledge.
  • Perform cold-eye reviews of estimates produced by other estimators.
  • Estimate the impact of scope changes during the project execution phase and work with the Project Manager to develop the project’s change-tracking system.
  • Understand your estimate’s deliverables and schedule and report potential problems in time for the department to assist when required.
  • Calculate contingency, risk, and escalation.

QualificationsWhat you will bringTechnical and Industry Experience:

  • Experience in Resources Industry is required (Oil & Gas, energy, petrochemicals, etc).
  • Advanced skills in Excel as well as general skills in Access and Word.
  • Familiarity with estimating software such as Xeras, Deswik, and Hard Dollar is an asset.
  • Advanced skills in written and oral English (other languages an asset)

Education – Qualifications, Accreditation, Training:Required:

  • Bachelors in engineering, construction or equivalent experience working for large projects.

Preferred:

  • Field experience in construction management on large projects is an asset.
