- Serving as Project Manager on major water and wastewater projects in the GTA and other municipalities in Ontario, acting as primary contact with the client project manager, and being responsible for project scope, schedule, budget and quality management, as well as management of multi-disciplinary design team members.
- Collaborating with the Ontario Client Service Leader and corporate sales and marketing team members for proposal preparation and client liaison to promote business development, reputation and relationships with municipal clients for water sector work in the GTA and Ontario
- Participating in professional societies relevant to the industry.
- Providing technical guidance, senior leadership, and mentoring engineering staff to enhance our water services capabilities in Ontario
- Providing technical support, project management support or quality management services for projects in Ontario or for other CDM Smith offices in North America.
- Building and maintaining positive working relationships with key client decision makers.
- Participating and contributing to staff hiring to enhance growth in the Markham office.

- Bachelor’s Degree.
- 13 years of related experience.
- PMP (PMI), CCM or DBIA certification is required (within 12 months of hire or promotion onto the Approved Project Manager list).
- Domestic and/or international travel may be required. The frequency of travel is contingent on specific duties, responsibilities, and the essential functions of the position, which may vary depending on workload and project demands.
- Equivalent additional directly related experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in civil, environmental or chemical engineering or related discipline.
- Registration as a Professional Engineer in Ontario.
- More than 10 years of related project management, and technical project delivery experience for projects in the municipal water sector.
- Experience working and managing projects for municipal clients in the greater Toronto area and/or southern Ontario market.
- Business development experience including preparation of proposals and cost estimates for municipal clients.
