Job description: As our plumber you must ensure all work is completed in compliance with relevant safety regulations and company policies, following project specifications and timelines, working efficiently and effectively to meet deadlines. Your responsibilities will include:Install, repair, and maintain domestic, commercial and industrial plumbing systems and accessories.
Thoroughly inspect cast iron pipes next to domestic risers and throughout the tower.
Confidently identify different gauges of cast iron pipes.
Skillfully replace cast iron systems to ensure optimal plumbing functionality.
Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, plans, and specifications to determine the design/layout of the plumbing system, water supply network, and waste and drainage systems.
Conduct drywall demolition as required to access plumbing infrastructure
Locate and mark positions for pipe connections, passage holes, and wall and floor fittings using measuring tools like levels and plumb bobs.
Cut and bore holes in walls and floors to accommodate pipes and pipe fittings using hand and power tools.
Measure, cut, bend, thread and connect pipes using hand and power tools or machines, such as pipe cutters, benders, and threading machines.
Join pipes using couplings, clamps, screws, bolts, cement or soldering, brazing and welding equipment, according to the specifications and requirements of the plumbing system.
Check pipes for leaks using air and water pressure gauges and other specialized testing equipment.
Troubleshoot plumbing system problems and identify appropriate solutions.
Support the growth and development of company culture and professionally represent Northland Properties
Performs other duties as requiredRequirements:At least 2 years of working experience as a Plumber
Proven experience in inspecting and replacing cast iron plumbing systems, including the ability to identify and work with various pipe gauges
Availability and willingness to work night shifts if required
Skills in demolition workPhysical Requirements:Must be able to lift 50lbs and use proper lifting techniques for heavy items weighing more than 25 kilograms
Must be able to stand and/or be on their feet 10-12 hours/day working in outdoor weather and/or unregulated temperatures
Must be able to climb scaffoldings.What else will make you succeed in this role:Possesses and maintains necessary tools, equipment, and protective gear.
