This position is a 40-hour work-week involving various shifts and various off days.KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES-Performing diverse and complex vehicle body work in the maintenance, repairing, rebuilding, painting and modification of TTC, rail or rubber-tired vehicles, trucks, cabs, light, heavy, and/or special service vehicles
-Hammering-out dents, filling, filing, grinding, sanding, and glazing
-Preparing and applying primer and finishing paint to dented, welded or pieced areas
-Straightening, bending, realigning and forming body sheathing and framing
-Riveting, welding and brazing joints or breaks
-Removing and installing body parts
-Fabricating or repairing sheet metal parts of equipment, working with plastic body panels, and repairing couplers and related fixtures
-Demonstrates behaviours that support diversity, inclusion, and a respectful work and service environment that is free from discrimination and harassment. -A valid Province of Ontario class “G” driver’s license
-Ability to pass tests set by the Operations Branch which correspond in content to the knowledge, theory and/or practical requirements of the job
-Effective communication and interpersonal skills
-Strong attention to detail and accuracy, with a commitment to safety
-Knowledge of, and experience using, computers in order to input and retrieve vehicle repair and labour reporting information
