For further information, visit .SUMMARYThe Project Manager – Commissioning is responsible for contributing to commissioning efforts for mission critical data center equipment systems including power generation and distribution, uninterruptible power supplies, static transfer switches, PDU’s, and BAS & BMS. Key activities include utilizing test equipment such as AC/DC amp probe, digital voltmeter, phase rotation meters, battery conductance tester, battery load tester, and micro-ohm meter. The Commissioning Agent travels frequently, 70% travel to job sites and has a varying schedule. Successful candidates will demonstrate BGIS values while performing their assigned duties.KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIESCommissioning Activities
- Perform design reviews of systems
- Develop, oversee, and write start-up and commissioning policies and procedures
- QA/QC of the equipment installation
- Perform construction observations and develop functional test plans
- Execute tests for a wide variety of electrical and mechanical systems and ensure testing is performed in conformance with standards and procedures
- Assist in training of plant operations and maintenance personnel
- Function as liaison with vendors and sub contractors regarding problem resolution and during performance of testing as required
- Review and analyze data and prepare technical reports
- Maintain effective communication with clients, contractors, and other project team members
Project Management and Tracking
- Work with others to manager small to mid-size projects to meet client expectations for technical excellence, budget, and schedule
- Map project timeline along with required resources, expertise, identification of key stakeholders, milestones, and key performance indicators to achieve
- Track progress and provide requested reports and overviews to internal BGIS leadership and external clients as requested.
KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience
- 7 years of industry experience in either electrical power distribution or mechanical systems or both
- Experience in diagnosing and solving construction and operational problems
- Organized with time management and prioritization skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work in a high stress environment while multi-tasking and meeting deadlines
- Good interpersonal skills and ability to work with and mentor others
- Knowledge of building codes and construction industry standards
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Word and Excel
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD is considered a plus
- Must have or be able to obtain a passport for international travel
