- Consistently offer professional, friendly and proactive guest service and supporting fellow colleagues
- Food preparation and cooking, plating, presentation
- Able to interpret a BEO and will ask superior for guidance
- Strong knowledge of quantities needed for service and upcoming volumes
- Able to write a thorough and complete prep list
- Can identify any ergonomic issues or hazards in kitchen and seek guidance on how to remedy
- Consistently offer professional, engaging and proactive service while supporting fellow colleagues
- Assist in the preparation and service of all food items for a la carte and/or buffet menus, according to hotel recipes and standards
- Ensure the cleanliness and maintenance of all work areas, utensils and equipment
- Maintain full knowledge of all menu items, daily features and promotions
- Follow kitchen policies, procedures and service standards
- Follow all safety and sanitation policies when handling food and/or beverage
- Maintaining and ordering stocks and supplies
- Other duties as assigned
QualificationsYour experience and skills include:
- Previous kitchen experience an asset
- Creative and passionate about food and customer service
- Able to work in a high-pressure environment
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; a team player
- A valid BC Food Safe certification
- As a condition of your employment, you must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 and provide appropriate proof of vaccination prior to beginning your employment with the hotel
