HAVAN starts its 30th annual Coats for Kids Drive

The 30th annual Coats for Kids campaign, organized by HAVAN, is currently in full swing in Vancouver. This initiative aims to collect gently used winter coats, outerwear, and new toys for families in need throughout Metro Vancouver. HAVAN, in partnership with the Lower Mainland and Surrey Christmas Bureaus, is accepting donations until December 5th.

With 66 drop-off locations hosted by 54 HAVAN member companies across 15 municipalities, donors have various opportunities to contribute. Along with coats, scarves, gloves, blankets, and unwrapped toys are also welcome donations. By finding a nearby drop-off point, individuals can help bring warmth and joy to children of all ages during the winter season.

According to Wendy McNeil, the acting CEO of HAVAN, members are actively involved in facilitating donations within their respective communities. Given the predicted cold and wet winter ahead, preparing children for the season is crucial. To celebrate the campaign’s success, HAVAN members and special guests will gather on December 5th for the annual “Chill Out for Coats for Kids” event at the Trail Appliances Vancouver showroom.

To participate in the Coats for Kids campaign and make a donation, individuals can easily find a drop-off location online at https://havan.ca/event/coats-for-kids-2024/. Let’s join hands in spreading warmth and joy to those in need this winter season.
