League of Champions Members Recognized for Outstanding Health and Safety Performance
Toronto – The League of Champions (LOC) recently hosted an event focused on Improving Health and Safety Culture, where approximately 50 members were honored with Zero Lost Time Injury Frequency Awards. Executive director David Frame commended the members for their success in reducing and even eliminating lost time injuries, a significant achievement in the construction industry.
The League of Champions is dedicated to enhancing health and safety in workplaces throughout Ontario. Frame emphasized the importance of measuring success in improving health and safety practices, leading the league to collaborate with the Workplace Safety and Insurance Board (WSIB) to track member performance and demonstrate program success. By utilizing the WSIB 2023 LTI frequency rate, it was found that the LOC contractors had a combined lost time injury frequency of .13, surpassing other construction rates and the WSIB’s schedule 1 rate of .98.
The recognition at the event honored companies with zero lost time injuries, showcasing the commitment and dedication of League of Champions members to maintaining a safe and healthy work environment. The outstanding performance of the LOC members serves as a testament to their leadership in prioritizing health and safety in the construction industry.
