Purpose of Position:
The Project Coordinator will provide support to the Project Manager for the overall management of projects, acting as a liaison between them and various technical disciplines engaged on the project. They will be aware of all aspects of work scope and will work to ensure project needs are met by applying exceptional ability to communicate, problem solve, and complete tasks in an effective and timely manner.
Reporting Structure:
Project Coordinator reports directly to the Senior Project Coordinator
Primary Responsibilities:
- Review and analyze material costs for purchase
- Manage change orders and subcontractor invoices
- Review and Manage work orders and shop drawings, purchase orders, and change orders
- Confer with project team, contractors, and suppliers to resolve any construction problem
- Perform tasks directed by the PM in support of project needs
- Cost estimating and quantity take-off
- Documentation distribution and logging (RFI, Site Instructions, Meeting Minutes, etc.)
Experience, Education & Qualifications:
- 2+ years of experience in a project coordination role
- Diploma or BSc Degree in Engineering, Construction Coordination or related field would be an asset
- Construction industry experience, design-build, MS Office, Spectrum, Traqspera, etc.
- Ability to read drawings, specifications, inspection reports, etc.
- Ability to manage subcontractors and vendors
- Ability to negotiate and track change orders with both owners and subcontractors
- Ability to manage multiple projects and tasks at a time
- Ability to meet sensitive timelines
- Strong knowledge of MS Office suite including MS Excel, and MS Project
