  • Reporting to the Director, Business Development, in our Residential Construction business unit, the Business Development Manager is responsible for leading a portfolio of new product development projects. He/she is responsible for assessing market needs and trends, defining product strategies and business requirements, managing the product life cycle, and ensuring the successful execution and delivery of product launches and enhancements.
  • Submit proposals for work to be carried out by R&D on all aspects of product development and maintenance to the Director and team of experts, in accordance with the PCP.
  • Carry out market research and analysis to determine the size and attractiveness of product markets and application areas.
  • Understand the market share of Sika products relative to the competition, measure it regularly and grow it.
  • Responsible for the sales and customer orientation of the expert teams and for ensuring that the team is oriented towards commercial objectives and commitments.
  • Responsible for all matters relating to product packaging and labeling.
  • Rationalize the product range to ensure an optimal and manageable number of products in the range.
  • Compare SIka products with those of the competition to identify and understand products, including distribution channels, pricing, business models, etc.
  • Motivate, support and guide the sales team, in collaboration with General Managers, to help them achieve local and corporate objectives.

QualificationsEducation: University degree or college diploma in commercial or technical field or equivalent training or experience.
At least 2 years experience in technical sales and marketing.
Direct field experience is an asset.
Bilingual (French and English) to facilitate exchanges with the team outside Quebec (60% of the time) and our international colleagues.

Job Description:

POSITION OVERVIEWTechnical Sales Representatives/Engineers will be responsible for the sales and marketing of our full line of cementitious products and equipment for the STM Business Unit. The employee should represent the best interests of Sika when dealing with consulting engineers, distributors and contractors.RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Market our full line of products in the BU to the engineering communities for the purpose of developing specifications, to contractors, as well as distributors.
  • Provide on-site technical support on projects for our line of products
  • Perform sales activities in a designated territory to increase market share and drive top line sales performance.
  • Recommend sales forecast, discount targets and budgeted expenditures
  • Visit shotcrete crews providing the following service; monitoring material performance, training, provide suggestions on dust and rebound levels reduction, explain proper equipment maintenance and operating procedures
  • Participate and complete RFQs/tenders when specifying our products.
  • Conduct “lunch and learns” and other seminars or presentations for distributors, contractors and engineering companies.
  • Participate in sales meetings when required.
  • Assist technical staff with any on-site problems.
  • Perform field testing and complete detailed results reporting
  • Complete monthly sales activity reports
  • Responding to specific customer complaints.
  • Develop trust and rapport with the end users of our material and equipment
  • Participate in trade shows in various markets
  • Take an active role in industry associations

Qualifications

  • Civil Engineering Degree or Equivalent Experience
  • Strong interpersonal and presentation skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills (English and/or French, region-dependent)
  • Ability to work within a team environment

  • Self-starter and ability to work unsupervised

WORKING CONDITIONS/ PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • All required safety training including WHMIS, confined space, working at heights
  • Knowledge and training to physically apply shotcrete with associated equipment
  • Ability to lift up to or exceeding 20KG
  • Uniform provided and follow industry standards for PPE relating to mine site or construction site
  • Much time spent underground in varying temperatures
  • May be required to travel and spend time in remote areas
