Job description: Why do we need you ?Reporting to the Plant manager, the Process VIE will be responsible for running projects improving process controls in our Vinyl siding plant. The role will also support day-to-day production as well as lead problem solving activities to address production issues, interacting with all supporting departments in the plant. Additionally, the role will support R&D projects with the local and central process team.These projects will deal with all process steps of the production and will target improvement on safety, quality, reliability (increasing line availability), developing standards, training and production cost reduction.Main responsibilities:

  • Design / develop new process systems, analyze variations and revise existing processes, develop and coordinate the implementation of solutions and corrective actions which contribute substantially to plant profitability,
  • Perform Statistical Process Control (SPC) data collection and analysis to monitor process performance,
  • Develop a culture of process control where key leading parameters are monitored proactively and acted upon when outside the control limits,
  • Assist in improving the sustainability of the process, in developing and implementing safe working procedures for autonomous maintenance,
  • Develop work instructions and assist in training and implementation of process operating procedures to ensure consistent production with the quality and efficiency at the highest level,
  • Participate and run trials to evaluate equipment, process and raw material opportunities in coordination with internal and external Services – Sharing results with written project or trial reports.

  • Master’s degree in Process engineering, or engineering related field,
  • Creative problem-solving mindset and a hands-on approach,
  • Detail orientated, well organized and able to analyze data and write reports in a clear way,
  • Experience in project management and project engineering fundamentals,
  • Working knowledge of advanced statistical tools used to reduce variations,
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to work effectively in corporate, manufacturing and team environments,
  • Excellent communication skills, written and spoken, both in English and French.
