The ideal candidate will possess the ability to think quickly on their feet, have excellent task and time management, and problem solve.This position will not require any repair that requires a licensed technician nor the removal or repair of hazardous material.Key Responsibilities:
- Regular interactions with Building Manager(s) and the Property Manager throughout the day to discuss the building operations, supply requirements, repair needs, concerns, etc. May include reports on work production, special problems, and other items.
- Ensure completion of maintenance request forms within 24 hours of receipt as reasonable and may involve engaging a third-party trade with approval from Property Manager.
- Ensuring the Maintenance Checklist is completed on each apartment prior to signing off on condition.
- Replace light bulbs around the interior and exterior of the property and complete daily light check log.
- Pool maintenance as well as maintenance of common equipment.
- Suite/unit turnover: painting and cleaning units as necessary.
- Keep a daily log of work that has been completed and other records for units and building maintenance.
- Implement, organize, direct, and manage the overall maintenance programs of the property.
- Maintain knowledge of competitive pricing for vendor and trade quotes on required work.
- Be diplomatic when dealing with residents, staff, and contractors.
Shifts Available:Friday – Tuesday
Skills and Qualifications:
- Previous experience with rental buildings is an asset.
- Experience with maintaining building and mechanical systems, and basic handyperson skills is required.
- Excellent written and oral command of the English language is necessary in order to be able to work efficiently and communicate appropriately with our clients and our support staff.
- Strong communication skills, verbally and in writing with Property Manager, Building Manager, Tenants and Support Staff.
- Pool Operations Certificate is a strong asset.
A valid BC driver’s license and access to a vehicle with insurance are requirements of the role.Physical Requirements:
- Ability to patrol the property including stairs, hallways, interior, and exterior
- Ability to work in different environmental working conditions (wind, heat, cold, rain, etc.)
- Ability to lift 50 pounds
- Ability to use standard building equipment (vacuum, climb a ladder, mop, handyperson tools for minor maintenance, power washer, leaf blower, etc.)
