Job description: Company – Top ENR Water ContractorAs a Chief Estimator job in Florida at Company you will work closely with leadership on current projects and maintaining the estimating schedule. They will work with the estimating team to review current workload and support them in their estimating projects. The chief estimator oversees the overall scheduling, training, leading of projects, and scopes of work.WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING
- Set up project in estimating software
- Assist with writing technical proposals
- Hold/attend pre-estimate, estimate walk through, and pre-bid meetings
- Provide value engineering analysis for every project
- Capable of leading 5 or more bids at one time and able to handle bidding two jobs at once
- Capable of leading bids on project value and complexity that pushes the limits of our comfort zone (i.e. $100M+bid)
- Discuss with project manager and superintendent constructability issues
- Write purchase orders and subcontracts
- Assist with the selection of estimating software
- Solicit subcontractors and vendors for pricing
- Examine project requirements- sales tax, business license, wages, and local stipulations
- Develop project specific wage scale
- Develop and standardize procedures for estimating
- Discuss potential future projects with owners and engineers
- Strategize on how to meet MWBE goals or good faith efforts
