Job description: We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Estimator to join our client’s team in Woodstock, Ontario. This role is pivotal in supporting our construction projects by providing accurate estimates, managing subcontractor relations, and contributing to project planning. - Assist in preparing bid calendars for the estimating department to meet proposal deadlines
- Develop detailed estimates and budgets for Lump Sum, Construction Management, and Design-Build projects
- Set up estimate numbers, solicit subtrade quotations, and conduct thorough reviews
- Conduct take-offs and pricing, including general conditions and document control
- Manage bonding and insurance requests and maintain an up-to-date trades database
- Assist in subcontractor work awards and conduct comprehensive quote reviews
- Lead Subtrade Proposal Review Meetings alongside project managers and superintendents
- Prepare formal subtrade recommendations and oversee subcontract preparation and issuance
- Facilitate pre-construction handover meetings with project managers and site supervisors
- Conduct site visits and gather historical costing data from past projects
- Monitor construction and material cost trends and update relevant data
- Build and maintain vendor and subcontractor relationships, obtaining complete scopes of work bids as needed
- Mentor and support junior estimating staff and foster a positive team atmosphere

- Diploma or degree in engineering, construction science/management, architecture technology, or a relevant field
- CET, GSC, or PQS certification is an asset
- 1-2 years of experience as a construction estimator
Qualifications & Skills:
- Solid understanding of market labor, material, and equipment rates
- Advanced Excel skills
- Exceptional attention to detail and strong organizational abilities
- Effective communication and negotiation skills
- High level of integrity and reliability
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD or Revit is considered an asset
