Job description: A Desk Estimator is defined within Paul Davis as a role which utilizes industry and carrier knowledge to create accurate and profitable estimates in a timely manner.Paul Davis Restoration, Inc. is a national franchise organization that provides property damage emergency services, restoration, and reconstruction services for residential and commercial properties due to water, fire, mold, storm, and other disasters. The promise of our Brand – to always deliver truth – is what we stake our reputation on and what those who engage with our company can and should expect from us.Nature and ScopeThe Desk Estimator is responsible for estimates for both reconstruction and emergency services. The Estimator’s primary responsibilities are to create profitable estimates that adhere to our insurance carrier rules using estimating software, specifically Xactimate and Symbility. They include:· Review scope of work, job reports and pictures.
- Create an accurate and profitable estimate.
- Request Matterport and Beacons where required.
- Review datasets and requests additions where required.
- Arrange subcontractor estimates and specialty quotes when needed.
- Determine any missing required information to create the estimate.
- Address all review notes and defend the estimate.
- Create a production package for all sold work.
- Take ownership of estimate revisions, supplements, customer credits & cash outs.
- Own the chasing of all upload and approval for all estimates.
- Address own reinspection’s.
- Estimate each loss using a 3rd party estimating software, Xactimate (as required).
- Ensure each project achieves a minimum gross profit margin as determined by company standards.
- Communicate and document any change orders and insurance supplements.
- Build and maintain business relationships with insurance adjusters, brokers, and TPA’s.

- Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word and Excel).
- Ability to easily learn new operating systems – RMS, Xactimate, and Symbility.
- Maintain professionalism.
- Maintain a level of confidentiality.
KPI’s
- Write $100,000 per week in estimates.
- 10-day estimate upload time.
