Responsibilities:

  • Assist in preparing quotations for all Grounds Keeping projects. This includes but is not limited to lawn maintenance, exterior janitorial, janitorial extras, and snow removal.
  • Responsible for gathering all information needed to price the project including but not limited to the pick-up of drawings, specifications, addendums, bidder’s lists, copies of contract, etc.
  • Complete all take-off work, review specifications and contracts, obtain sub-trade and material prices, and keep the addendum current.
  • Keep track of all change orders so that they may be properly invoiced.
  • Attend various site meetings with clients, architects, engineers, etc. as may be required, and maintain an excellent working relationship with them.
  • Visit the site to become familiar with it and ensure that it represents the site or landscape plan.
  • Create purchase orders under the direction of your manager.
  • Assist in creating work plans for projects that are awarded to us. This may include reviewing start and completion dates, time allowed for the project, creating work summaries (project books) for superintendents and forepersons, etc.
  • Assist with daily department administration.

Requirements:

  • Ability to complete take-off measurements from landscape plans.
  • Ability to physically measure areas onsite (at the project location).
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Computer skills in Excel and Word Pro.
  • Able to read blueprints.
  • Recognize and follow occupational hazards and standard safety precautions.
  • Valid driver’s license with a good driver’s abstract.
  • Knowledge of landscape maintenance and snow removal is an advantage.
